মাওলানা মাহফুযুর রহমান বলেন,
We have gathered here today for an important cause. this cause is that our brothers, M.Saifur Rahman Sabil and brother Zillur Rahman, are going to open a weekend madrasa from next week onwards. This is a very beneficial contribution to our community therefore we should support them by giving mashwara and sending students there.

as a Muslim parent or guardian, we should take care of our children in order to teach them the Islamic habits and create an Islamic mindset within them. Allah (SWT) says: ‘Save yourself and save your family from the fire’ so if we don’t care about them today, Allah forbid, we have no idea what they may become tomorrow. As they are living within a multi-cultural society, they will hear different things, learn different things, Remember, if they end up being good, then we will gain reward even after we pass away. As the Prophet (SAW) says: “When a man dies, his deeds come to an end, except for three: A continuous charity, knowledge by which people derive benefit, pious son who prays for him.” [Muslim].

We should encourage our children to worship Allah, learn Qur’an and hadith. We could encourage them through our speech, or motivate them through prizes and gifts, or through the means of celebration after achievement. Through this, the children will be more interested in learning the deen. This is also a rewarding action for us to carry out.

The sahabahs used to teach their children Qur’an and inspire in their hearts a love for the Qur’an. Look at Anas (R.A), when he used to complete a khatam, he used to gather his children, and family members to make a duaa. He would do this so that the children learn this from him. Even after the Sahabahs, there are many examples in the life story of the salaf.
In order to encourage children, sometimes the salaf would show specific respect towards the teacher, just to encourage the students. For example, when Imam Abu Hanifa’s son, Hammad, entered the maktab, and learnt basmallah, he informed his father after his father had asked him what he had learnt that day, after hearing his sons reply, Imam Abu Hanifa sent 500 dirham to the teacher. Thereafter, the teacher came to Imam Abu Hanifa, surprised by this, asking Imam Abu Hanifa why he gave him that much. Imam Abu Hanifa replied to him ‘Do you think you have taught something small to my son? By Allah, if I had more wealth, I would have given you more out of respect for the Qur’an.’

So let’s think about this and take heed from these points. May Allah accept our efforts and make this madrasa a success.
